MERMAID

Lola A wears black more than the usual person. It's sort of her default color of choice. But wearing black all the time can be quite undeniably boring too. So it's best to play with various textures and bold silhouettes to make your all-black ensembles interesting and exciting.
Lola A's sheer knit cape-type cardigan from American designer Rachel Roy is absolutely stunning. It has an interesting fish scale-like pattern that looks pretty neat. Channel your inner Jezebel donning it.
On another note, one of Lola A's favorite designers and fashion icon Ann Demeulemeester announced her unexpected retirement. After almost three decades, the Antwerp Six alum finally called it quits from heading her successful avant garde atelier. Her existing team will take over the operations of the Belgian label. So to pay homage to her, Lola A works her impeccable Ann Dem wedges. Indeed, her departure is such a big loss to the entire fashion industry.

INFLATED BALLOON

The unexpected pairing of this voluminous Paul & Joe LBD and the narrow Max Mara pencil-cut skirt is absolutely flawless. Notice how the Paul & Joe dress narrows down at the bottom creating an exaggerated balloon-effect. And the peplum at the end of the dress makes this lovely dress undeniably feminine.

THREE-TIER CHOCOLATE CAKE

Lola A's layered chocolate cake-inspired ensemble looked both delectable and divine. The idea of layering two skirts, a pleated mini and a pencil cut one, is just plain brilliant. It's sort of her innovative take on the peplum craze which was huge last year. Also, that quirky Marni top is hard to ignore. The cool ruffles at the bottom of the jacket absolutely adds drama to the entire ensemble. No doubt this is one of the best looks from Lola A we have seen so far...
